Ide o odbornú činnosť zameranú na trvalo udržateľné hospodárenie vlesoch takýmspôsobom a v takom rozsahu, aby sa uchovala ich biologická diverzita, odolnosť, produkčná a obnovnáschopnosť,životnosť a schopnosť plniť funkcie lesov.
